Jennifer Suzara-Cheng, a Fil-Am grandmother and student of the UCLA Extension Writers' Program, is featured in an entry at the UCLA Extension blog.
“As grandparents, we are the inconspicuous link for our children and grandchildren to the land of our birth. Thus, I have decided to build the bridge that will carry these ideas, propagating Tagalog as a Second Language by self-publishing Bilingual Tagalog Books, and starting with Alphabet Books and eventually moving to short stories from the` home.”

My First Book of Animals (Ang Aking Unang Aklat ng mga Hayop) won the Children’s Picture Book: Softcover Non-Fiction category of The 2020 International Book Awards (IBA) on July 22, 2020.
Suzara-Cheng’s book was chosen over 2,000 entries from authors and well-known and independent publishers around the world. Among those publishers are Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, John Wiley & Son, Palgrave Macmillan, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Thomas Nelson, Forge, Loyola Press, and Shambhala Publications.
